Blizzard Entertainment is a worldwide known computer game company, which has become popular long ago. It was the beginning of 1990’s, when three talented guys got the idea to establish their own company, designing computer games. Their first release took place in 1994 and got the name of Warcraft I. These people named the company Blizzard, although the name was changed from one to another in the very beginning. The final name – Blizzard Entertainment is now known all over the world and every second person knows, what this company does and what games it has already released. 1. Nineteen ninety one became the year when the company known as Blizzard Entertainment was established. It had another name at that time, but aiming at the improvements, creators of the company decided to change the name. However, two games were released under the first name of the company. These games were ‘The lost Vikings’ and ‘Rock’n’roll racing’.
2. In 1994, the creators of the company decided to change their name, but it was found out that company with the same name had already existed. It became obvious that the name should have been changed and this was how Blizzard Entertainment was actually born. In this very year, the company released their first game under the name of Blizzard. The game was called Warcraft I and it was a qualitative and thought-out product, which was fated to become a sensation. Considering that it was the time, when computer technologies had not been as developed as now yet, such success was unbelievable and Blizzard could boast of becoming the first company of the world to release something brand-new and world-popular.
3. In 1996, the second volume of Warcraft was released and continued the tradition of successful and qualitative games. As well as the first part, Warcraft II was loved by fans and remained popular more than 6 years.
4. In 2002, after a long-lasting pause, Blizzard presented its third triumphal game named Warcraft III. It took company six years to develop, design and release this game and there is nothing strange about this. Blizzard is known for its responsible approach towards game development. 5. The height of Blizzard’s glory took place in 2004, when company released the brand new game, named World of Warcraft and presenting the brand new genre of computer games – MMORPG.
